Playing with the Life of the Sea

Composing music with water, and for water, in a time of climate crisis.

Thanks to Tom Kieckhefer and Ocean Conservation Research for sharing field recordings of marine animals with me. Through their generosity I could start to explore, in sound and vision, what it could mean to use our voices to respond to the voices of marine life, and the catastrophic noise pollution caused by humans. Thanks also to bass clarinetist Marij van Gorkom for enthusiastic participation in early workshops of the hardware and software invoived. First, provisional iteration performed at Chorlton Arts Festival, May 2023.
